Easily Share Personal Training Client Progress in iOS & Android Apps
FitSW is awesome at tracking progress with progress graphs, progress photos and before-and-after images. Now we have made it easy to quickly share personal training client progress on social media using our iOS and Android apps (the website already did this as outlined here for graphs and here for photos) . You can share it on any social media platform you prefer at the click of a button. There are three beneficial reasons to share client progress on social media (after you have made sure your clients are ok with it of course):
Recognize your client for their hard work. A lot of clients like to have their friends see how far they have come in their fitness journey. Having their trainer highlight this on social media can be both motivating and rewarding.
Expose you to more people in your clients network. What better way for potential clients to see how great of trainer you are than for them to see how you have helped their friend / acquaintence.
Show your social media followers what you can help people accomplish and the types of people you work with.
Sharing Progress Photos and Comparison Images
Sharing Progress Photos and comparison images is now as simple as clicking a button in your iOS or Android app. First go to your Comparison Images and choose the image you would like to share.
After clicking the “Share” button in the upper right, you will see the below screen that will allow you to choose which Social Media platforms to share the image on.
Sharing Progress Graphs
You can also Share Personal Training Client Progress Graphs in a similar way.
After tapping the Share Progress button, you will see the following screen where you can select which social media platform to share on.
Progress Pictures and Progress Tracking in Android App
We recently added the ability for trainers to use progress pictures and progress tracking in the Android app. Personal Trainers can take progress pictures with their phone, save them, and then create side-by-side comparison images in the app. Its a great way to show clients how far they have come and by integrating it into the app we make it easy for clients and trainers to do access these features on the go. These features also work in a similar way on our iOS app as described here and on our website at fitsw.com as described here.
We also added the ability to view Progress Data in table format in addition to the Progress Graph format. We made this feature work similar to the way we did it in iOS described here.
Progress Pictures and Comparison Images
Personal Trainers and clients can access the Picture and Comparison Images using the “Pictures” item in the sidebar menu. Once there, users will see two tabs: a Pictures tab and a Comparisons Tab.
Progress Pictures Tab
On the Pictures tab, users can see a gallery of their existing pictures. They can also click the plus button in the lower right to add another picture. The app will prompt the user to ask if they would like to add a progress image from their phones image library or take a new one. This new photo will then be added to the gallery. Personal trainer and their clients can click on a photo to see a larger version or to edit it.
Before and After Comparison Images Tab
On the Comparisons tab, users can see a gallery of their existing Before and After Comparison Images.
Users can tap on an image to see a larger version of it or they can hit the “+” button in the lower right to create a new comparison image based off of images in their picture library.
Progress Data in Table Format
We have also now enabled users to view progress data in table form in addition to graph form. In this table form, users can also edit values by clicking on an entry.
We recently released a new version of our Android App that includes a ton of new features. These personal trainer app android updates include the following:

Fitness Progress Graph Navigation Improvements
Improved Workout layout when listing exercises with multiple reps & weights.
Personal & Client Profile Pictures
Demo Exercise Video viewing Improvements

Several Other Usability improvements and bug fixes

Below is a bit more detail of these improvements along with some screen shots.
Call, text, and Email Personal Training Clients.
You can now contact your personal training clients any way you would like from within the FitSW Android app at the push of a button.
Fitness Progress Graph Navigation Improvements
We have made it easier for you and your clients to navigate the Fitness Progress Graph menu screens. To add new data, click the plus symbol in the upper right. From that screen, you can also edit your assessments or add new ones as needed.
Improved Workout layout for Exercises with Multiple Reps & Weights
Instead of being separated by commas, we now have the multiple rep / weight exercises display this info vertically.
Personal & Client Profile Pictures
Personal Trainers and their clients are able to add profile pictures at FitSW.com and in the iOS app. We have now added the ability for users to view these profile images in the android app. The ability to upload in the android app is coming soon.
Demo Exercise Video Viewing Improvements
For demo videos that are on youtube, the demo link will create some space below the exercise to show the video right there in the Workout Details screen. For non-youtube videos and other links, the demo link will open a new page that is easy to view in the browser.
Create Client Accounts Without Requiring Email
This is for cases where you have a client that won’t be logging into the system but you would still like to manage their data through the app. For this case, you don’t need to create a login account for the client – you just need to create a client in the system that you can view. We have made it easy to create clients this way if needed using the switches in the upper right.
Workout Interval Timer
The new workout interval timer allows you and your client to stay on track with your workout. Another updated to FitSW’s personal trainer app Android.
We recently released a complete redesign of the FitSW Android App For Personal Trainers and Clients and also added new features and improvements. This new design makes it easier to navigate the app and quickly do what you need to do. Whether its adding workouts, updating a diet meal plan, or viewing progress, the side bar lets you quickly do what you need to do. We also added new features to the android app for personal trainers and for clients described below.
New Side Bar Menu for Both Personal Trainers and their Clients
Trainers can access the new side bar menu from any screen in the upper left. Below is what the side bar menu looks like.
New Personal Trainer Schedule / Calendar Page
Personal Trainers and their clients can now view and update their Schedules just like they can at FitSW.com and with the FitSW iOS app.
Separate Food List and Exercise List Menus
We have broken out the Food List and Exercise List items into their own menu items. This lets you quickly add, edit, or delete items in your food or exercise list without you having to navigate through many places. It also simplifies the Workouts and Diets pages so that those are easier to use
Improved Exercise Demo Video Drop Down
Its now easier for your personal training clients to view exercise demo videos without leaving their workout page. The new demo links slide down the page to show a video instead of taking you to a brand new page. Here is how it looks:
Other Android App Changes
The above are just a few of the improvements in our new Android app. We have also added several usability improvements and other changes. Give it a try and let us know how we can make it even easier for you to use.
UPDATE: This app has been released and is available now. More info can be found here.
We will soon be releasing a major update to our FitSW Android app which will include a full redesign, usability improvements and bug fixes. The new layout of our personal trainer software android app will allow us to better incorporate many of the new features that you have been requesting. We are looking for users to try out our beta version of this new Android app to give us feedback on some of the improvements that they would want to see. If you are interested in an early look at this software and want to be a beta tester, respond in the comments section below or send us an email at email@example.com.
New Personal Trainer Software Menu
A key change with this new release is the new easier to use sidebar menu with more options.
Separated Out Tasks from Client List
Tasks now has its own menu item and is separate from your personal training Client List. This makes it easier to track your clients goals and tasks for both you and your personal training clients. We have also added the ability for users to create repeating tasks with what every repeating frequency they would like.
Personal Training Client Workouts and Diets
We have also updated the personal trainer software Android App Workout and Diet screens. The new layouts make it easier for you to build workouts for your personal training clients. They will also make it easier to plan diets for them as well. We have also made it easier for your clients to review these workouts and diets that you created.
FitSW Android App Beta Testers Wanted

1) Superset Workout View in Android app
Now, you and your clients can view workouts with supersets properly in the Android app that were created on fitsw.com. In a future release we will be giving you the ability to add supersets within the Android app but for now you can create them at fitsw.com and view them in both the iOS and Android apps.
2) Facebook Login and Register with Facebook
You and your clients can now login and signup much faster using Facebook Login and Signup with Facebook.
3) Add Workout Screen Improvements
The text inputs on the Workouts tab for Sets, Weights and Reps fields now use a numeric keyboard to make it quicker and easier for you to enter. We have also made it so that the Weights and Reps text fields also accept comma’s so that you can enter multiple weights and reps for a single exercise.
4) View Diet Improvements
In Diet log for your client, we have now enabled decimal places for Quantities of Foods that you enter.
5) Usability improvements and Bug Fixes
We have also improved the sizing of text, fixed bugs and added other usability improvements.
Future FitSW Android App Release Coming Soon
The above changes are in the latest release of our FitSW Android App but we will also be releasing another revision soon. If you have any feedback on the FitSW Android App, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can implement those improvements as soon as possible. The same goes for the FitSW iOS App along with our website at https://www.fitsw.com.
We have had beta testers testing the private version of the new FitSW Android App for the past month and have received a lot of great feedback. If you provided feedback, thank you very much! Please keep it coming. We have now put the Beta version of the FitSW Android App on the Google Play Store for everyone to test out and provide feedback. You can access this version here on the Google Play Store.
We plan to release an updated version every week for the next few weeks incorporating any bug fixes users find, so please let us know if you have any issues. We would also love to hear your feedback on improvement suggestions so that we can add them to our ToDo list.
Current Features of FitSW Android App
The FitSW Android app has similar features to the FitSW iOS app and we will be adding more that we have prioritized based upon your feedback. Please continue to provide us with that feedback. Here is what is included in the current version:
You can add clients, create an account for them and store all of their information including: email, display name, date of birth, goals, likes, dislikes, injuries.
Create, track, and record multiple fitness clients’ workouts online in one central location. Utilize our extensive exercise database with exercise demos.
Create goals or tasks for your clients that can be tracked by both you and your clients as completed or incomplete. Receive notifications when goals are completed.
Track and chart client fitness progress on anything, from body-fat to waist-line to bench-press max. Charts are fully customizable.
Nutrition and Diet Planning
Easily create meal plans, record food intakes, and keep tabs on fitness clients by allowing them to create food logs.
We have recently began releasing new exercise demo videos in our exercise database. We wanted to update our videos to have them get straight to the point without ads or long introduction. Simply a quick demonstration of the exercise to help users see the exercise in action with proper form. With nearly 500 exercises in our database it will take some time to update them all. We are expect to have all the initial updates within the next few weeks. You can check out the latest additions to our demo videos on the FitSW Youtube Channel and we will be adding a lot more in the coming weeks.
Keeping Exercise Demo’s Updated and Fresh
We will continuously add and update new & improved video demo’s. We are excited to have Inspired By Purpose & Channéll Holmgren provide us with even more high-quality video demo’s to keep our library fresh and updated. Stay tuned for these videos shortly.
Adding Your Own Videos
Want to add your own exercise with your own custom video demo? FitSW has the flexibility to enable you to do this. You can do this in the Exercise List page by clicking Add Exercise. You will be able to enter the exercise name and then create a link to your video. This video demo you link to can be on youtube, facebook, or any other website. Then when your clients look at their workout and click the “Demo” button for a specific exercise, they will see the video you linked to.
You can also edit our exercise list to just change the video for an already existing exercise. So if you want to add a personalized touch with your own demo video instead of ours, just click on the specific exercise on the Exercise List page and you will be able to change the video link to what ever link your video is at.
We want to make sure we provide all the resources you need to help your clients while at the same time offering you the flexibility to customize our system as you would like. Let us know if you have any feedback!
This month, we will be releasing a new FitSW Android app to complement our FitSW website app and our FitSW iOS App. The app will have the same functionality of the FitSW iOS App to start. Going forward we will continue to upgrade both iOS and Android with new features. Please let us know the features you find most important. We will take that into account while deciding what to add first . You can let us know via email at email@example.com or in the comments section below.
