Personal Training Clients Workout, Diet, Task Dashboard
We completely revamped the first page trainers see when they login to fitsw.com – the Client List page. We have transformed it into a dashboard where personal trainers and fitness coaches can quickly and easily get a summary view of how their clients are doing. This personal training client workout, diet, and task dashboard provides summary statistics on each client. Here is what this new view looks like:
Quickly Understand Your Personal Training Client’s Success
As seen above the Workouts, Tasks, and Diets buttons have been replaced by data to summarize how well your clients are adhering to the plans you give them. If we look at these columns closer here is what we will see:
For Workouts, this particular client has Completed 78% of what his trainer assigned him. The data shows the actual number completed in parenthesis (74). 3% of his workouts were marked as Not Met, and he has 19% that are classified as Open. The green bar corresponds to the percentage complete, orange corresponds to Not Met, and grey to the percentage of workouts that are open. Similarly, trainers should read Tasks and Diet Data the same way.
This new dashboard helps trainers understand all this information with just a glance so that they can quickly identify how to respond to how their clients are doing.
Dialing in On the Results and Creating New Workouts
Fitness Coaches and Trainers can then quickly go to the specific clients Workout list by just clicking on that summary data. In the specific client’s Workout List, trainers can Add / Edit and Delete workouts just like before. Same goes for Tasks and Diets.
Other Client List page Updates
In addition to the Personal Training Client Workout, Diet, Task Dashboard updates mentioned above, we also made the following changes:
Moved Delete button out to underneath the Clients name instead of in its own column.
Updated the Messages button to an icon next to the clients name.
Created a separate Progress Column where trainers can choose to view Progress Graphs or Progress Pictures of a specific client.
Stay tuned for future changes. We will be adding the Personal Training Client Workout, Diet, Task Dashboard graphs mentioned above to our iOS app and Android app very soon.
The personal trainer custom web page lets personal trainers have their own personalized page. On this page, trainers can include info on themselves and their business. They can include the types of services they offer, share selected contact information, display certification info and specialties, and accept payments all on this FitSW personalize web page. Each user can choose their own page address: www.fitsw.com/pageaddress where pageaddress is whatever they want it to be. More info on the personalize personal trainer web page.
We have recently added new features to this page including the ability to upload your own custom logo to show up at the top and a way to specify the country which you are based. Below are more details.
Adding a Custom Logo to your Personalized Web Page
On your Account -> Profile page at the bottom, there is a place to upload your custom logo for your personalized web page as seen in the below image.
Trainers just need to click the Add Your Logo Image and select the particular image from their computer. As a result, their Personalized Web Page will be updated to show that logo at the top like this:
Selecting and Displaying Country on Personalized Web Page
If a personal trainer is doing in-person training, then they likely want to let potential customers where they offer services. On the personal trainer custom web page, users can include their country. In addition, trainers can also include the postal code / area so that potential clients will be able to find them and know where they are based. Previously users could only select between a few countries but based on feedback from FitSW users from all over the world, we have now added all countries. Users can select their country on our iOS App, Android app, or on our website.
Selecting Country on Mobile App
To select your country on the mobile app, go to the apps Profile Screen.
Selecting Country at FitSW.com
To select your country at FitSW.com, go to the Account -> Profile page. Then, you will see a field called country with a drop down menu that lets you choose your country.
Trainers can also enter their Postal Code / Zip Code to be more specific on their location.
We recently made updates to our personal trainer workout tracker that enable trainers and clients to classify workouts as “Complete”, “Not Met”, and “Open”. This also works for Diets and Tasks but in the post we will discuss mostly how it applies to workouts. These new update are available on iOS, Android and on our website.
Tracking Workout Completion at FitSW.com
To mark a Workout as “Complete” on the website, go to the specific users Workout page. In the “Status” column you will see either a red square, green check mark, or orange “X”. By clicking these, personal trainers and their clients can change the workouts Status to Open, Complete or Not Met.
If you have email notifications turned on, trainers can be notified of workout completions or other status updates. Trainers and clients can also click the word “Status” at the top of the Status column in order to sort Workouts by their status.
Tracking Workout Completion in our iOS and Android Apps
In our mobile apps, trainers or clients can swipe any workout in their workout list to the left and the app will display options like “Complete”, “Not Met”, etc depending upon which tab the user is on. We have also added a “Not Met” tab in addition to the “Open” and “Complete” tabs we had before. Now, users can see which workouts have been classified as Not Met.
New Status Buttons on Workout Details Screen
We have also added “Complete” and “Not Met” buttons to the Workout Details screens as well. Trainer and Clients will find this at the bottom of the Workout Details page so that they can mark the workout complete right there on the screen they were following along with.
After the user clicks Complete or Not Met, the Workout is moved to the Complete or Not Met tab. All the above features work the same on Workouts, Diets and Tasks so give them a shot and let us know what you think.
We have added several usability improvements to the Personal Trainer Scheduler to make it better work with the Workout Builder. The biggest one is that we now allow personal trainers to specify a time for their clients workout if they would like while the are building the workout. The app / website then automatically adds the workout to both the trainer and client’s schedule. This is currently implemented on our iOS app and our website. It will be available on the Android app in two days.
Add Personal Training Workout to Schedule in Mobile App
Here is how you can add a workout automatically to your Personal Trainer Schedule Calendar.
On the Edit Workout or Add Workout screen, you will see some text on the same line as the Date that says “Specify Time”. Tap this.
Enter the Start Time and End Time and tap “OK”
The time will then be specified for this workout. If you would like to change the time, simply click the current times that you just set. When you Update / Add the workout, the app will automatically add it to your Schedule Calendar.
The personal trainer and client’s Schedule Calendar is now updated to show the workout that was added from 12:00pm to 1:00pm:
Similarly, the website version of the Schedule Calendar displays this event as well.
As a result of the above, the workout list page and the workout details page now display the workout time.
Removed the old link for “My Page” and instead integrated the fields from that page into the “Profile” page.
Created a separate “Settings” page where we put Automated Email Settings and Client Permissions Settings.
We have made it easy to update both of these pages by making the site automatically save information as you enter it.
To access the Profile page on fitsw.com, click the Account button in the upper right and in the dropdown click Profile. On this page, you can update the traditional fields of Display Name, contact email, phone and password.
We have also added the Personalized Page section on this same page for Trainers to create their own Personal Profile Page at fitsw.com/XXXXXX where XXXXXX is whatever the trainer chooses. This page is helpful to share with potential or existing clients. On this page, trainers can decide what information to share: services offered, country, zip (to help when clients are searching their area for trainers), General Information, Specialties, and certifications. All of these fields are optional and the site saves data as you enter it.
The data entered here can also be shared with current clients in our iOS app and Android app if the client goes to the “My Trainer” menu item.
The “Settings” Page can also be accessed underneath the Account tab. On the settings page, Trainers can set their Automated Email settings for both themselves and their clients. They can set their client permissions as well. They can also Update Payment information and change / cancel their accounts.
This page also automatically saves changes – no need to hit a save button.
Creating Workout Plans for Multiple Clients at Once
We have recently enabled Personal Trainers and Fitness Coaches creating workout plans for multiple clients at once in our iOS app, Android App and at fitsw.com. In the same way, Trainers and coaches can also add diet plans and tasks / goals for multiple clients at once. This feature makes it easy for trainers who have clients on similar fitness plans to build out workouts and plans. The trainer can then customize the workout with specific weights later by editing it individually. Below are the details on how to create workout plans for multiple clients at once:
Creating Workouts for Multiple Clients at Once on the Website
First go to the Add Workout screen as you normally would.
Click the “Select Additional Clients to Apply Workout to” link shown in red below:
You will then see a list of your clients to choose from. Select as many as you need to.
Then when you click the Save Workout button, the FitSW will apply this workout to all the clients that you selected.
You can apply Diet Plans and Tasks to multiple clients at once in the same way.
iOS & Android App Creating Workout Plans for Multiple Clients
Creating workout plans for multiple clients on the iOS and Android apps works much the same way.
Go to the Add Workout screen as normal.
Click the “Apple Workout to Additional Clients” button seen below in red:
Select all the additional clients you would like to apply this workout to and then click Done.
The app will display the names you selected right under the main client you were adding this workout to.
Tap “Add” like you normally would to add a workout and the workout will be added to all the clients you selected.
Trainers can add diet plans and tasks for multiple clients at once in the same way as above.
We recently made several improvements to the workout creator in our iOS and Android apps along with several updates in our web app at FitSW.com. These personal trainer workout creator improvements include the ability to have more than 5 different reps and weights specified for each exercise and the ability to add exercises on the fly while building a workout.
More than 5 Different Reps and Weights For Each Exercise
We have now added the ability for users to specify many different weights and reps for each exercise. Previously the app only allowed users to specify up to 5 different weights and reps. Now users can add up to 10. For example users can now create a workout that looks like this:
Users can create workouts like this by simply entering commas between each rep or weight will adding the exercise. It should look like this:
Add Exercises on the Fly while Building Workouts in Mobile Apps
Website users have been able to add exercises on the fly while building a workout for a while. Now, this same personal trainer workout creator improvement is available on the app. Trainers no longer need to first add an exercise to their exercise list before they can use it in a workout. Now, a trainer can build a workout and add an exercise right there from the Workouts tab and it will be added to their workout. The app will save the exercise to the trainer’s exercise list. Here is how to do it:
Users should tap the Add Exercise button like they normally would while creating a workout.
Then when the Exercise list comes up, the trainer just needs to hit the new “+” button in the upper right to add to this exercise list.
The app will then display the Add Exercise screen for the trainer to add the exercise name, a demo link and the muscle group.
Complete the above 3 steps and the exercise will be added to your workout. It will also be in your exercise list going forward.
We have added a new feature to Workouts in addition to the ability for personal trainers to build workouts on FitSW. We have now added client workout results tracking. Personal trainers or clients can fill in the actual results during or after their workouts and then compare with the original plan. Below is what it looks like.
Enter Actual Results for Your Chosen Workout Fields
Personal trainers or their clients can activate this feature for any workout by clicking the button with the red square around it. They can then enter in the actual results for any field they would like. All fields are optional so you or your clients can fill out whichever fields you would like. Maybe you only want your clients to enter the number of reps they did with the specified weights – then everything else can be left blank. Its completely up to you – no fields are required.
Saving Workout Result Data is Simple
We made entering workout results data as easy as possible. The webpage will automatically save the data as the trainer or client enters it. There is no need to click a save button.
Easily Remove hide Fields for Simple to Read Workouts
Hide the “Actual Results” by again clicking the Workout Results Tracking button highlighted in red. The website will save all the data entered into the “Actual Results” fields. Clicking the same button again will then show the saved data again.
Client Workout Results Tracking on Mobile View of the Website
This feature is also available on the mobile view of the website using the same button. This feature on mobile website viewing works the same way. The only difference is for cases where there are multiple reps or weights for a specific exercise. This is shown as comma separated on desktop (example: 12,10,8) but on mobile there are individual fields for each rep count as seen below. Trainers or clients can record actual results for each of these fields.
Sometimes its just easier, faster and more convenient for personal trainers to have their clients pay them with credit cards or debit cards. FitSW enables trainers to accept payments from their clients directly at FitSW.com. In a previous post ,we had talked about enabling trainers to accept payments from their clients. This feature has been in beta for several months and is now available to everyone. Below we will give more details on accepting payments from personal training clients.
Setting Up The Ability to Accept Payments as a Personal Trainer
In order to use the payments feature, the personal trainer must have a premium account. To setup the ability to accept payments, click on the “Payments” tab when logged in and then click the “Begin Accepting Payment” button.
You will be taken to a page where you can quickly enter in the necessary information with our payment processor and your account will be setup.
Payments Page after Account Setup
After your payments account is setup, your payments page will show you details on how your clients can make payments to you as well as a link to your Payments Dashboard. This link will show details payments received, payouts to your account, and your Payments account settings.
How Clients Can Make a Payment
There are two places a client can make a payment. First, is they can visit their Personal Trainers Public Trainer Page (if it has been setup by the trainer described here). This is the personalized page that trainer can setup using the My Page tab. Using this method, the client doesn’t need to login but the trainer does need to have setup their personalized page. At the bottom is the place to make a payment.
The second way is the client can login to their account and then click on their own “Payments” tab.
Both ways are very simple and the client just needs to enter the amount they will be paying, enter their credit / debit info and that’s it. The new payment feature makes it easy for both the personal trainer and their client. This feature will soon be coming to our Android app as well. If you would like to see it on iOS as well, please let us know.
Uploading Personal Trainer Forms Like PARQ and Contracts
In our web application at fitsw.com, we have now added the ability for uploading personal trainer forms in addition to the Personal Training Contract form. Previously, we allowed trainers to upload filled out Personal Training Contracts for each client. Trainers can save these online and access from anywhere. We also allow Personal Trainers to save Online PAR-Q data on our website. We have now given you another field where you can upload your own personalized PAR-Q form or any other type of form you would like. I have highlighted this field in red in the image below.
New File Upload Field Form / File Types
This additional upload field can be used for any type of file you would like to upload for your clients. It could be your own customized PAR-Q if you have additional questions you like that are not on our existing Online PAR-Q form (which is based off of NASM‘s). Or this additional upload file could be a release form, another contract or any other type of customized form that you would like to save for each of your clients.
How Do I Upload A Personal Training Form
Uploading a Personal Training file or form for your client is easy.
Login to FitSW.com and then click on a specific clients name that you would like to upload a form for. FitSW will take you to the “Edit Client” page.
Toward the bottom of the “Edit Client” page, click the “Choose File” button. Then select the Form / File that you would like to upload.
Click the blue “Save” button. FitSW will save and upload your form.
You can access this uploaded form at any time by going to the “Edit Client” page. Then click the “Exiting Upload” button.
To overwrite the existing form, follow steps 1-3 again and select a new file to upload.
