Uploading Personal Trainer Forms Like PARQ and Contracts
In our web application at fitsw.com, we have now added the ability for uploading personal trainer forms in addition to the Personal Training Contract form. Previously, we allowed trainers to upload filled out Personal Training Contracts for each client. Trainers can save these online and access from anywhere. We also allow Personal Trainers to save Online PAR-Q data on our website. We have now given you another field where you can upload your own personalized PAR-Q form or any other type of form you would like. I have highlighted this field in red in the image below.
New File Upload Field Form / File Types
This additional upload field can be used for any type of file you would like to upload for your clients. It could be your own customized PAR-Q if you have additional questions you like that are not on our existing Online PAR-Q form (which is based off of NASM‘s). Or this additional upload file could be a release form, another contract or any other type of customized form that you would like to save for each of your clients.
How Do I Upload A Personal Training Form
Uploading a Personal Training file or form for your client is easy.
Login to FitSW.com and then click on a specific clients name that you would like to upload a form for. FitSW will take you to the “Edit Client” page.
Toward the bottom of the “Edit Client” page, click the “Choose File” button. Then select the Form / File that you would like to upload.
Click the blue “Save” button. FitSW will save and upload your form.
You can access this uploaded form at any time by going to the “Edit Client” page. Then click the “Exiting Upload” button.
To overwrite the existing form, follow steps 1-3 again and select a new file to upload.
Create Workouts For Multiple Personal Training Clients at Once
We recently added the ability to create workouts for multiple personal training clients at once at fitsw.com. In the iOS app and on the website you can still copy workouts from one client to another. Now with this update, you can save even more time by adding a workout for multiple clients from the start when you first build the workout. Here is how to do it:
1) Go to Workout View and Add Workout like Normal
Go to the Workouts screen for one of the clients that you would like to add a workout for. In the specific clients Workout screen, click the Add Workout button as usual.
2) Click the link to “Select Additional Clients to Apply Workout To
Enter in the workout information as normal. Then click the link that says “Select Additional Clients to Apply Workout To.
3) Select the Additional Clients to Add Workout For
The link will then change to a list of clients that you can select as clients you also want the workout added for. You can use shift or command / ctrl to select more than 1 client in the list.
Then click the Save Workout button at the bottom as normal. This workout will then be added to the main client along with all of the additional clients that you selected.
Future Updates and App Improvements
Let us know what you think of this new feature and if you would like to see us add this to our iOS app or Android app.
Add Profile Pictures for Personal Training Clients
We have now added the ability for you to add profile pictures for personal training clients to help further personalize their profiles. You can either have your clients add the picture to their own profile or you can do it yourself. Below is how to use this feature on our different platforms.
Add Personal Training Client Profile Pictures on iOS
It’s easy to add personal training client profile pics on iOS. You can either choose from an existing picture or you can take the picture within the app on your iPhone / iPad. Here is how to do it:
As a Personal Trainer
Go to the “Clients” tab and click on the client who you want to update. At the top will be the profile photo and you can click the Update Photo button. You can then choose whether you want to take a new photo or use an existing one on your phone.
As a Personal Training Client
You can also have your personal training clients update their profile pictures themselves in their own Profile screen. Have them click on the “More” button in the lower right and then click the “Profile” item. The will then be taken to the below screen where they can click the “Update Photo” button and choose to take a photo or select one from their phone.
Add Personal Training Client Profile Pictures at FitSW.com
The profile pictures you add on the iOS app will also show up on the FitSW website and vice versa. So wherever you add them, you will be able to see them on multiple platforms. Here is what they look like in the web application / website.
You can also add profile pictures for your personal training clients on the website by clicking on a particular clients name in your client list. These updates will also show up on the iOS app if you use that as well.
Adding and viewing Profile Pictures on Android is not available yet but is coming soon. If you would like to see that happen soon, like or comment on this post at the bottom so we can prioritize that feature.
Collecting Client Payments as a Personal Trainer using FitSW
Collecting client payments as a Personal Trainer will soon be possible on FitSW.com. You will be able to request payments from your clients on FitSW and your clients will be able to pay you securely with a credit card through our familiar FitSW platform. We are looking for beta testers now for these features and expect to have them fully released by this Spring. If you are interested in being a beta tester, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or respond in the comments section below.
Credit Card Payments from Clients
Collecting client payments as a Personal Trainer can sometimes be a hassle. Tracking which ones paid, when they paid, how much they paid and how many sessions they have left can all take up a lot of your valuable time. As a personal trainer you should be able to spend most of your work-time doing what you like: personal training!
I’m sure many of you also have clients that prefer to pay via credit card and that can also make things difficult if you don’t have a setup that allows this or if its a complicated setup. We have received requests from our personal trainer users to enable them to accept payments through our website. Coming this Spring we will be enabling this feature to allow you to accept and track payments all through our site. This means:
No more complicated setups – this feature will be built into the FitSW website for you to access at anytime.
No more sending clients to a different website. Clients can easily make a secure payment on the FitSW platform they are familiar with.
You can also track all your payments and session information within FitSW
These are just a few details of the Client Payments feature that we are adding. We would love to hear your feedback on what additional features you would like to see.
You can now use FitSW’s Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) Creator to enable your clients to quickly fill out a Paperless PAR-Q Online. We know how important it is to screen your clients with the PAR-Q but we also know that it can take up a lot of time. Previously we enabled you to upload hand-filled-out PAR-Q forms to save for each of your clients. Now, we make the process even simpler and quicker. You can do everything online and stored it for you to access at any time. If you’d still like a hard copy, just hit the print button and you can print out the online version. Below is a quick video on it (make sure you choose video quality of 1080p60HD in youtube so that you can see everything) along with a quick walk-through on how to use the PAR-Q Online creator.
If you do not yet have a FitSW account you can access the online PARQ here: https://www.fitsw.com/onlinePARQ/ to try it out. If you do have an account, follow the steps below.
UPDATE: We have also now added a PAR-Q feature to our iOS App. More details here.
Online PAR-Q Creator Walk Through
In your Client List click on the client you would like to fill out a PAR-Q and then in the PAR-Q section click “Have Client Complete”.
Your client will receive an email with the link to their online PAR-Q. They can then easily fill it out online.
All the information your client enters will be saved as they go. No need to worry about losing their work or progress if they are interrupted.
You will be able to view your clients PAR-Q online anytime you would like from the Edit Client screen.
You or your client can quickly print it out by clicking the green “Print” button on the online PAR-Q form.
Simplify and Reduce Paperwork
Having every client fill out a PAR-Q has become much easier with FitSW. Clients can fill out the form online whenever works for them. It’s now also much easier for you to keep track of all these PAR-Q’s without having to worry about uploading documents.
Back in August, we released a beta version of the new personal trainer scheduling calendar as described here. We also have a demo video of the scheduling calendar. After a few months of your use, feedback, and our improvements we have released this as our main scheduling calendar.
New Personal Trainer Scheduling Calendar Improvements
This new scheduler added several new features over our old calendar including:
Clients can now see their own calendar which can have their workouts, diets, and appointments with trainer on it.
If the trainer enables it, the Client can also see available times on their trainer’s schedule. This enables them to know when they can request an appointment. The trainer can then approve or decline the appointment. It will then be saved on both the client’s and trainer’s calendar.
Day, Week, and month views are available
It is easy to create repeating or recurring appointments at many different intervals. You can specify events to repeat daily, weekly, or every X number of days. Trainers can also specify how long you would like an event to repeat. You can set it to repeat forever, for a month, or not at all. With all these features, it is simple to do things like quickly create a repeating Workout Appointment Every Tuesday and Saturday, Create a Diet Event that repeats every 4 days, etc.
Personal Trainer Scheduling Calendar Updates since the Beta Release
Since the above released in August we have also added several improvements. Here are just a few of those:
Personal Trainers can now specify email schedule reminders for the appointments on their calendar. Client will then automatically receive a notification email a specified number of hours before the appointment / event.
In the Workout Creator, personal trainers can now easily add a workout to the scheduling calendar. All they need to do is just click a checkbox.
Improved calendar resolution – you can schedule personal trainer appointments any time at any 15 minute increment.
Overlapping appointments – You can now create overlapping appointments if you need to.
New Progress Graph Features: Printing Fitness Progress Graphs & more
We just released several new features for the Fitness Assessments & Fitness Progress Graph section of FitSW.com that you have been asking for. These new features include the following main additions: Printing Fitness Progress Graphs, Printing Fitness Progress tables, and the ability to set Default Assessments so that every client you add will automatically be setup with the Default Assessments you have defined.
Printing Fitness Progress Graphs and Fitness Progress Tables
You and your clients can view Progress Graphs on FitSW anytime you would like. Some trainers have also requested we provide the ability for you to easily print these out on paper in order to review or share a hard-copy. So we have now added a convenient green “Print” button right next to the “Add Progress” button. When you click this button you will be able to choose what you would like to print and how you would like the data displayed. You can choose if you want to Print Progress Graphs or if you want to Print the data in table form.
Printing Fitness Progress Graphs Formatting
The page will then be reformatted to provide the best look for printing and you can then print to a printer, .pdf, or whatever you would like. Here is an example of what the print format will look like:
Here is an example of what the print format will look like for printing in table form.
Setting Default Fitness Assessments
You decide what Assessments you measure for your client’s Fitness Progress Graphs. Set an assessment to measure Body Fat %, Weight, Number of Pushup, or anything else you would like. You may have noticed that when adding a new client, the default Assessments assigned to those clients is always to measure: Hips, Chest, Biceps, Waist, BodyFat, and Weight. Well, we have now enabled a feature to let you defined these Default Assessments yourself. So whenever you add a new client, they will automatically be setup with the Assessments that you would like. This goes for whether you add the client on the website, FitSW iOS App, or the FitSW Android App. Here is how to do it:
Click on “Assessment List” in the menu at the top of the page.
FitSW will then display a list of your Clients and with “Default” at the top.
Click Default and then set whatever Default Assessments you would like.

Create Before and After Fitness Photos with New Fitness Picture Manager
An image can convey so much information, especially when it comes to your client’s fitness progress. That is why we recently released our new picture & image manager at FitSW.com that will help both you and your clients visualize the results of their hard work. We have now made it extremely easy to upload and manage fitness photos. On top of that, you can now quickly create before and after fitness photos based off of two individual photos you would like to compare.
We have also added a feature that lets you quickly share these images to social media if you would like. Some clients like having their progress posted to social media to show the results of their hard work to their friends while others may like the fact that FitSW also allows the photos to be shared just between them and their trainer. Here is an example photo created using FitSW with our old friend AC Slater ;). This post describes how to create Before and After photos on our website. You can also create Before and After photos in our iOS App as described here and Android App as described here.
How to Use FitSW to Upload Photos, Create Before and After Comparisons, & Share on Social Media
Check out this demo video to see how to use FitSW’s Pictures feature. You will see how to upload photos, create before and after fitness photos, and share on social media. Read even more details below.
Uploading Fitness Progress Photos
In order to keep clients motivated and help see how they are doing, many trainers will take photos periodically. FitSW has now made major improvements in our system to allow you to quickly upload these photos, store them, and add date & caption information. The system can provide your clients automatic access to these photos without you having to do a thing. This allows both of you to monitor and proudly review your clients progress. Pulling out that old photo to show the client how far they have come is often a really good tool. It can help renew motivation as soon as you sense your client approaching a plateau. FitSW makes it easy for you as it stores all these photos on the Gallery tab of your Pictures page for a specific client.
Create Before and After Fitness Photos
You can take it a step further by creating comparison photos to get a good visualization of what areas of the clients program have been a success and really hammer home the point of how much progress your client has made. FitSW allows you to create before and after fitness photos with just two clicks – one to select the first comparison photo and two for the second comparison photo. FitSW then places the images into a single image side by side with each one’s specific date and caption information displayed. Picture manager stores these images on the tab called Comparison Photos which is right next to your Gallery tab. You can access these images whenever you need to. FitSW also makes it easy for you to download these images to your device.
Sharing Before and After Photos
Sharing Before and After Photos on social media can be a great tool for some clients. Posting fitness before & after photos to a clients facebook page may lead their friends to comment things like “Wow – those are awesome results!” or “Amazing Job!” which can be incredibly motivating and provide a lot of support to your client and keep them on track. It is also a great opportunity for you as the trainer to highlight your capabilities to a broader audience of all your client’s friends and acquaintances. This is the perfect way to show them the results you can help your clients achieve. Just make sure your client is ok with you posting on their social media first. FitSW makes it very easy to share on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.
Create Your Own Personal Trainer Blog & Content Management System
Have you ever wanted to share content (videos, images, text, instructions) with all your personal training clients at once but keep it only to your clients and not public? Or have you ever wanted your own Personal Trainer Blog & Content Management System without wanting to have to deal with some of the more complex or heavy, slow software out there?
FitSW’s new Personal Trainer Blog & Personal Trainer Content Management System (free on all accounts!) solves both of these problems and more. It allows you to quickly create posts or content of any type and designate who can view these posts / content on a per post basis. Check out the Demo here:
Easily Select Who Can View Your Personal Trainer Blog Posts or Content
When your clients login to FitSW they can see the posts or content you would like them to see without having to do anything special – they just click on a button in their menu that says “My Trainer -> Blog”. If you have designated a post or content as being shared with “Clients Only”, no one else can see it but your clients. You can also give clients the ability to comment on posts.
At the same time you have the ability to share other posts or content with people in addition to your clients. For example, if you are writing an informative article that you think would be helpful to others and could potential bring in more clients, you could post this to your public content that anyone can see as long as they have your blog address.
Choose Your Own Custom Blog Address
Speaking of your blog address, you can easily customize this so that people can find you. Let’s say your business is called FitnessFirst – create your blog at www.fitsw.com/FitnessFirst/blog/. This makes it very easy for people to find your page and it has a professional look.
Simple, Fast Content Management & Personal Trainer Blog Posting
On top of all this, our Blog / Content Management System allows you to create these posts quickly and seamlessly. It is extremely simple to upload an image or video compared to a lot of the other software out there. See the video at up top for a demo.
Just a few ideas of what types of posts you could share on your page:
