How the Most Successful Trainers Use FitSW’s Different Platforms

FitSW has 3 different platforms – the fitsw.com website, the FitSW iOS app, and the FitSW Android app. The data from all of the platforms sync together. It doesn’t matter if you as the trainer use the website sometimes and a mobile app other times, all data will be synced. It also doesn’t matter if half of your clients use the iOS app, and the remaining ones use Android or the website. Everything will just work. However, there are some slight differences between the platforms that we do want to highlight. We also want to share how some of our most successful trainers use FitSW. This can give some of our newer users valuable insights in the best way to use the platform.

The Website is the Most Full-Featured for Trainers

FitSW’s mobile apps have tons of features and many users run their entire businesses off of our apps. However, the fitsw.com website has even more and is well-suited to quickly and efficiently build programs for fitness clients efficiently. Our most successful trainers with a large number of clients, use our website to sit down and do their fitness programming and tracking. They then use one of our mobile apps for quick on-the-go changes, minor data entry, or quick communication with clients. So in summary, our most successful trainers use the website when they are spending more than 5 minutes on a task and use the mobile app for tasks that are shorter than that.

Given this common usage pattern, we have ensured that features are fully built out for our website complete with lots of bells and whistles. Then in our mobile apps, we have added the most commonly used on-the-go features in their most efficient form. So if there is something you want to do on mobile but can’t find the functionality, it is likely available on the website. So then what do you do if you don’t have a computer to sit down and use the website? Well, we have made our website completely optimized for tablets and phones also. So you can just access fitsw.com from your phone or tablet and have access to all those powerful features.

So why do we have mobile apps at all? Well, some users just like apps better and there are definitely on-the-go capabilities that are better in our mobile app. Again most of the functionality you need is in the mobile apps. However, if you are managing lots of clients and need to spend a lot of time working with FitSW data – the website will often be more efficient.

Mobile Apps are Best For Clients

So far we have talked about the platforms from the trainer’s point of view. However, the client’s point of view is just as important. Since clients don’t need to do as many different things with the app as a trainer does, the app is likely the best choice for them. The tasks clients do are generally pretty simple. They mark workouts complete, enter workout results data, and view their upcoming workings. These are on-the-go tasks that our apps do very well. For this reason, using either our iOS app or Android app is a great choice for clients. However, the website is also very easy to use for clients if they do not have a smartphone.

Differences Between Android and iOS

Our Android app and iOS app have the same functionality so that your clients on iOS and Android can do the same things. However, as is common in other high-tech apps, there are some differences in the user interface. This is due to some inherent user interface differences between iOS and Android as a whole. We made sure to follow the best practice of designing the iOS app so that it’s intuitive for iOS users. We also designed the Android app to be intuitive to Android users. Because of this, there are some very slight interest differences. However, your clients will prefer this instead of us forcing Android users to use iOS interaction patterns they are unfamiliar with and vice versa. This will lead to a much better user experience for your clients on both platforms.
